i can't type chinese because i'm using ubuntu 7.10 livecd to write this post. but i can view chinese so you don't have to reply in english. sorry for the inconvenience.

the problem is:
i'm trying to restore grub using livecd after i reinstalled my xp system.
i tried the following commands as suggested by the experienced and received error msg:

grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
(hd0,6)

grub> root (hd0,6)

grub> setup (hd0,6)
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage2" exists... yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5" exists... yes
Running "embed /boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5 (hd0,6)"... failed (this is not fatal)
Running "embed /boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5 (hd0,6)"... failed (this is not fatal)
Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 (hd0,6) /boot/grub/stage2 p /boot/grub/menu.lst
"... failed

Error 22: No such partition

grub>

i searched the forum but found no solution.
does anybody have the same problem as i did?

setup (hd0)

still doesn't work.
it shows the same error.
