求助：原grub美化方法在8.10下失效

GGJJ们帮帮忙啊
原来装的是8.04按照这个帖子的方法美化grub成功http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/viewtopic.php?t=74038

但是现在upgrade到8.10后这个方法失效了，具体表现在执行第4步设置grub时，输入find /boot/grub/stage1显示file not found，/boot没有单独分区，后来发现在8.04的menu.lst中每个启动项下都有root=(hd0,6)之类的命令，但是8.10的menu.lst里没有了，我想无法设置grub的问题就在这儿

呼唤高手帮忙找出适合8.10的grub美化，万分感谢

把 UUID=XXXXXXXXXX 改成 (hdX,Y) 这样的格式 就行了
UUID对应/dev/sdX,Y 的关系用ls -al /dev/disk/by-uuid 来查询 ,再通过 UUID对应的/dev/sdX.Y 换算成(hdX,Y)

但是我改了之后就启动不了。。。555,uuid对应的是hd(0,6)，应该是这个，因为我分区表一直没变过，8.04里的启动分区是这个，8.10应该也是这个
menu.lst如下面

改uuid是把第二行的uuid ****改为root (hd0,6)还是把第三行中的 root=UUID=***改为root=(hd0,6),亦或是二者都改？
貌似我改了第三行中的内容就启动不了了
