我用的机子是 惠普 Compaq dc7700p CMT ET088AV-06，具体配置是intel酷睿双核，主频1.86，硬盘250
安装过ubuntu几个版本启动都异常缓慢，现在装的是8.04的版本（dvd）
具体情况：
进度条部分就需4-5分钟，在出现进度条同时，按ctrl+atl+f1后显示
. ........
kinit：trying to resume from [.......]
kinit：no resume image ,doing normal boot
然后一直停留在这，很慢,很慢
同时如果按ctrl+atl+f8显示
............
loading hardware drivers
error:receiving uevent message:no bufffer space avilable [fail]也有的时候启动成功[ok],还是很慢
对于网上说的跳过检查磁盘，修改grub等方法都已用过，还是解决不了。
到现在为止装过很多版本了，难道是硬件问题，对内核支持不好吗，有没有解决的办法，求助各位达人

哥们，我们的问题一样，解决方法如下：

You can try this:
1.) Go into the console, and click on "Session", and then on "New Root Shell".
2.) You then get a similar console, called the the "Root-Shell-Console" (maybe a second time, but that does not matter...).
3.) Type in your password again. You won't be able to see, what you type. Anyway, when you typed in your password, click "enter".
4.) Try out a command, and wait for for the output. Some sort of command with the word "boot" inside, or "boot from hard disk drive".
Should this all be fruitless, than you will have to log out of your computer.
Solution:
Put the configurations right in the BIOS.
The BIOS is not doing, what it is supposed to do. So he needs the new and proper commands.
