You should report a bug about this. I think this happens when kernel is removed (files in /lib/modules/2.6.22-12-generic) before corresponding linux-ubuntu-modules packages is removed.
You can try manually create /lib/modules/2.6.22-12-generic directory if it doesn't exist anymore, then try to remove linux-ubuntu-modules package, or alternatively modify /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-12-generic.postrm and comment out "update-initramfs ..." line and then try to remove linux-ubuntu-modules.
