各位DX，我最近买了一个东芝ss2110。日本二手的，拿来后装linux，装了gutsy，然后装x系统，装好后显卡默认是vesa通用显示器，倒是可以启动到x，但是当重启x或者切换到另外几个字符终端的时候屏幕开始狂闪，无法工作，希望有类似经验或者知道怎么回事的告诉小弟，谢谢。
ps，ss2110就是跟r100一样的一款

I had installed Fedora Core 3 on dynabook SS 2110 DS10L/2.
With just a bootable cd/dvd media drive, I could easily install the Linux.
Installation Media
Supplement DVD from LinuxWorld (Japanese Magazine published on Jan.2005)
CD/DVD drive
novac ComboStation(NV-CB2100UC)
(http://www.novac.co.jp/products/hardwar ... -cb2100uc/) (Japanese)
Bootable with USB connected.
Procedure
1. Connect DVD drive to USB. Hold down the f12 key and press the PC power button.
2. Insert a installation media into the DVD drive on the Boot selection screen.
3. Choose CD icon on the boot selection.
4. DVD starts up the installer.
5. Then just to reply to installer's questions.
During installation, sound driver will be automatically detected and you can replay
the test sound.
I found that I lost sound during updating the RedHat Network. I checked this
status from "application menu" ---"system construction" ---"sound card detection"---
"replay test sound". Now I am using it as is.
I have no idea about wireless LAN, as I don't have it.
If you would like to use internet and email only under Linux, you will be able to run FC3 without
any special knowledges.

I could finally solve the sound problem.
I found that I updated the RedHat Network in the wrong order. (or I may be wrong...)
Anyway, I am sure that the problem was not in dynabook.
Bad order:
1. Updating the kernel
2. Updating the sound driver
3. Rebooting PC
(1 and 2 may be opposite. All I remember is that I selected all and executed them with up2date)
Good order:
1. Updating the kernel
2. Rebooting PC
3. Updating the sound driver
Sound (ALSA) driver is linked to the kernel so the kernel version seems to be important when updating.
After reinstallation, now the sound is working with no problem.
Before doing reinstallation, I downloaded the latest driver (newer than I have updated) from
ALSA HP, and compiled the source. I could get the sound work as well.
In retrospect, I could have just uninstalled the driver with rpm and reinstalled it.
