I try to change the screen and graphics preferences tonight, but after I use the viewsonic driver, I can't come in the normal windows, I had to come in the safe gnome windows and come to forum to ask for help. Could anybody tell me that the default set when we setup the ubuntu 7.10 system in the first time. Because I try to use the model LCD panel 1280x1024 and plug "n" play 1280x1024,but I can't come in the normal windows yet. Is the Screen and Graphics preferences problem? Last night, I setup a system update driver, then the desktop have some problem, but I can come in the normal windows, after I change the screen and graphics preferences,then restart, then I can't come in.

优派还有 linux 驱动？ 分辨率的问题是显卡的问题，跟显示器关系不大 , 而且基本上 ubuntu 不需要第三方，或者另外找什么驱动，

你要说你什么卡？ （芯片）， 怎么装的，？

gforce 2 nvidia
When I install ubuntu7.10, it was default setup, it is ok, no any problem, I use it about one week,then,I search a gforce new driver for linux on www.mydrivers.com, then I use it about one week, and it is no any problem, then I setup a restricted driver in order to drive the 3D system, then I use it about 2 weeks, it is no problem.

After I can't login the windows,I delete the restricted driver, and use the default driver, but I did not come in the windows yet.

好好的，你折腾什么？ 你可以找找论坛上很多的 N 卡如何安装，
基本上5700以上的卡，应该是装 nvidia-glx-new

sudo nvidia-glx-config enable
sudo nvidia-glx-config
