请问mac book pro 896可以装Ubuntu8.10吗？

论坛的大侠门，大家好，我的机器是苹果的 mac book pro 896，配置如下：
CPU:intelT7700
GPU:N卡8600,256M显存
内存：2G
硬盘：320G
我已经在苹果的美洲豹系统下用vmware安装了XP，也就是说我现在已经有了2个系统，一个是苹果系统，一个是XP，想问问大侠，我还可以用vmware装一个Ubuntu8.10吗？我应该装哪个版本？有没有驱动问题？请大侠给个下载地址，谢谢~具体点的地址！我的Email是

我一直奇怪为什么中国人把 leopard 翻译成美洲豹。
The leopard (IPA /lɛpə(r)d/; Panthera pardus) is a member of the Felidae family and the smallest of the four "big cats" in the genus Panthera; the other three are the tiger, lion and jaguar. Once distributed across southern Asia and Africa, from Korea to South Africa, the leopard's range of distribution has decreased radically over time due to hunting and loss of habitat, and the leopard now chiefly occurs in sub-Saharan Africa. There are fragmented populations in Pakistan, India, Indochina, Malaysia, and China.
