help---how to install Chinese input language

I am a new user with ubuntu and have a little problem now. My ubuntu 8.1.0 have not Chinese input method, but I can see the SCIM in my tool box without Chinese method. Besides, I found my SCIM in my computer with directory is
"/usr/share/scim" only contain one folder named "icons", as I know it contain at least another folder "tables". So all above were my problems , thanks for somebody helping me solve them, so thank you!

在系统system->系统管理system manage 里的新立得Synaptic 里面搜索pinyin 然后安装上就行了

系统设置里面找语言支持再找chinese打勾就可以了。

so sorry, I could not find the package in my system,
I think that my apt source is not correct
--- the default one has no these packages with IM for other language.

but which apt-source has these package? what is your apt-source file?
