ubuntu究竟有没有安装glibc的？

我用的是9.04的，我怎样知道我的系统安装了glibc了没有呢？我用命令/lib/lib.so.6和/lib/lib-2.9.so查了这两个库，但是这两个库是不是glibc库呢？因为我要安装oracle，但是oracle需要glibc的支持，我自己从源上下载了一个所谓的glibc2.9的源码，编译成功了，但是安装会覆盖系统原有的一下C库，比如libc.a。所以不敢下手，应该怎么作呢？谢谢！

不装glibc库你根本跑不了其它程序...

我的连PGI都没法用。不知道怎么搞的。
安装Glibc的时候也不能编译
