linux下本人用过的，包括Red hat. red flag, suse. ubuntu.
最近用ubuntu。感觉很不错。记录些感受。
＊安装篇
live disk的安装就不说了。简单，装的时候如果原来有windows。没有关系。但装之前记得要划出空的空间。工具？ partition magic之类的很多。分个10个G够了。如果你只是用来玩玩的话
装在虚拟机上？？开了基本就卡死了。而且网络配置起来也比较烦。还要切来切去。要玩就玩真的！
装好以后T43有2个驱动不支持。一个是software moden.一个是ATI的显卡。
那个software moden driver可以直接开起来。在Restricted dirver manager
ATI的显卡如果没在7.10下没有装好。会造成经常性死机。具体按照下面步骤作：

Install linux-restricted-modules and restricted-manager provided in the restricted repositories:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-generic restricted-manager
Open the restricted drivers manager in "System -> Administration -> Restricted Drivers Manager" and select "ATI accelerated graphics driver". This will hopefully enable fglrx in a painless way.

连网络? 用Network Manager
中文输入？ 用scim

中文字体美化办法
^download and unzip package simsun.rar
^copy to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont
^Configure firefox display char type into Simsun after restart firefo
music? Winamp? NONO 我们用XMMS
video? Mplayer? NONO.我们用vlc。不过要自己装好多插件。应为不是开源的。所以要自己手动去找.
聊天？ MSN？ QQ？ NONO 我们用Gaim 2 Pidgin! 一个全通吃
Word? Powerpoint ? NONO.我们用Openoffice2
图像处理? GIMP
字典？金山？ NONO。我们用StarDict 3.0.
浏览器？ IE? IE这种安全机制那么差的可以入土了。。现在是firefox的时代。不过firefox在linux下的版本没办法装IE Tab在访问Qzone 的时候有点问题。那估计要等老马出个LINUX QQ edition了。他不会和Bill G有私下协定吧故意不开发吧。。。
解Rar包
rar plugin program install
1. Install xarchiver with Synaptic
2. Download unrar-free and unrar in Synaptic
来。我们把最绚的桌面效果开起来
有好多。3D旋转桌面。软绵绵的窗口变化。透明效果。
但T43上要这样配置：
Active the desktop effect:
In order to get the desktop effects to work I first had to install the ATI driver using the Restricted Drivers Manager.
Then I had to install xserver-xgl using the Synaptic Package Manager located under System-->Administration-->Synaptic Package Manager. Just do a search for xserver-xgl in the Synaptic manager to find it.
While you are there you might want to install the compizconfig-settings-manager as well.
After those are installed reboot and then you should be able to select Extra in the Visual Effects tab under System-->Preferences-->Appearance.
Worked for me.
