字体/汉字显示问题

很对不起，我写中文写的还很差. 我是美国的汉语学生，我用ubuntu 7.04 fiesty 英语版, 作了这里的SCIM指令。

login时，　如果我对《language》选定《中文》，以后没有字体后汉字显示的问题，　但如果我在login screen选定《English》, 以后汉字很奇怪，汉字就像用不同的字体。　

这里有个screenshot(截图?)用xubuntu, 但我用ubuntu时也有这一个问题

怎么办?

我也有同样的问题，只不过我的系统是Deutsch的。

而且在Commend 模式下，所有汉字都显示为一个菱形。

U can use English.
Most high-level ppl here can read and speak English fluently.

I think it's fonts problem, you need to install some Chinese fonts in your English session(s),and make some configurations in "system" ->"Preferences" ->"Font" .

On how to install Chinese fonts, pls check the wiki.

I think I have all Chinese fonts installed correctly, because they work fine under a Chinese session, but System -> Preferences -> Font only gives me options to change the application font, document font, window title font, and fixed width font. If I change these to Chinese fonts (like the ShanHeiSun font) all my English lettering comes out pixelated and ugly. I only want to change how the Chinese characters are displayed, not change all the system fonts.

因为英文系统时，language-selector.conf这个文件会消失，一些中文特定的设置就没有了。照alexis715的做。

Fontconfig-voodoo solved a few problems and definitely made my fonts a little bit more consistent overall. The font is still inconsistent in the window borders, though, (as you can see in the window border at the top of the firefox window in this screenshot) and it made the sans-serif normal fonts all bitmapped fonts, like the ones in the text of the messages on this page, making them all look a little strange and pixelated now.

Maybe you have chosen the not-right-font?

My snapshot below shows a normal scene. I am using MS-fonts instead of Ubuntu fonts(I think it's legal coz I have a licensed Windows^^). All fonts are set in Tahoma except Fixed-width, which using a Simsun.
