在线等答案（一直混迹在字符界面，无法进去桌面）

本来，用LINUX 就是要提倡用字符界面的，可是我想用他完全替代WINDOWS，就必须要用XSERVER阿。本人多次安装就是进不去桌面环境，在VM下什么都是好的，可是实际却是不是这样的。

我的机器配置是：P4 3.0 G（64位）/512 /硬盘80G（SATA） /ATI RadeonTM X300 SE（128）独显/ 17液晶

本人苦苦寻求答案多日，不得其果敬，现在我将我的log file 与config file贴出来，请高手指点一下，言不尽感激之情。

楼主的问题可能是驱动问题。ubuntu带的ati驱动弄不起擂卡，建议楼主试试：
$sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
在选驱动的地方选上vesa驱动。
如果要搞的好点可以试试换个第三方源装xorg-driver-fglrx
$sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
接着用$sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg配置选上fglrx驱动。

还有要注意的就是fglrx在6.10上有问题，要在xorg.conf末尾添加：
