I have a problem during the install

I cannot forward at here, i've mount the root file system, but it still said: No root file system.
What's wrong?

you can write chinese, i can read it, but i cannot write it now.
I use ubuntu 6.10 CD to insall
install on my own harddisk. and I ready have a windows xp on the harddisk, i dont want to del it.

that is a typical problem or a bug. u may find a lot here in this forum.
my suggestion is to burn an alternate version cd, and install.
it really works most of the time.

and use the partitioner to format the “ / ” again，
then ，continue ,that will be ok
