vmware的tools的问题

头一回用LINUX，不会的太多，请帮帮忙！

我在winxp上安装的vmware (version:5.51 build-19175) ，又在虚拟机上安装了最新的UBUNTU，但是不会安装TOOLS工具了，总是弹出文件夹，里面两个文件，vmwaretools 5.5.1-19175.i386.rpm vmwaretools 5.5.1-19175.tar.gz ，我在别的地方看到说要解压缩什么的，看了半天没看明白，请高手能不能详细说说，多谢！


还有一个是关于开机启动到text界面的，我在其他地方看到说要修改/ETC/INITTAB里面的一个文件，要求把5改成3，但是我在UBUNTU中没找到，我就蒙了，什么都不懂，望指导，越详细越好，多谢！

当你看到这两个文件的时候。
在菜单上找到终端。进入终端。
cd /cdrom
tar -xvf vmwaretools5.5.1-19175.tar.gz -C /tmp (这里的文件名可以用tab键补全）
cd /tmp
cd vmware (用tab键） （因为我这里是在unbunt下写的。而不是在windows下，具体目录我记不请了。）
再用source 命令运行安装文件。
然后一切都按默然的来。
要记住，选择分辨率的时候，选你的windows下的最大的。因为之后，你可以往小里调，但是不能在调大了。
然后在虚拟机里面调节分辨率。

你可以试一试。另：里面有readme。看一看，里面的英文不是太难。
如果不行，等我忙完，转到windows下，给你更详细的内容。

在终端界面中依次运行如下命令
　　 tar zxf /media/cdrom/VMwareTools-5.5.1-19175.tar.gz（回车后系统会把那个.tar.gz文件解压缩）
　　 cd vmware-tools-distrib（回车后目录将转换到解压缩后的那个文件夹）
　　 sudo ./vmware-install.pl（回车后会提示输入你的密码，表明你将以更高级权限执行一个动作——安装软件；再次回车后安装开始）
经过一番确认回车后,直到最后出现“Enjoy——the VMware team”的字样后，VMwareTools就安装完成了.

注:从别处引用后修改完成

在这里是gcc编译程序的时候寻找c 的头文件，它认为是在/usr/src/linux/include 里面，我没有碰到这个问题，也许你安装上基本的开发工具，可能能 解决。
下面是我回到windows下，做的详细的步骤。

1、在虚拟机的虚拟机菜单中，选择安装vmware tools。这个时候，虚拟的unbunt的桌面上会出现两个文件。其中一个是tar文件。
2、然后进入ubuntu虚拟机。
3、进入终端。
4、 cd /cdrom
5、 tar xvf （在这里按tab键自动补全） -C /tmp
6、由于在ubuntu中输入文件名太麻烦，而且也难免会输错。请多用tab键。
7、Cd /tmp ； 然后找到你解压的目录。Vmware-tools-distrib。
8、Cd vm (用tab键补全)。
9、找到安装文件。 Vmware-install.pl
10、Sudo ./vmware-install.pl
11、一路按回车。注意在程序问你是或否的时候，一律回答yes。
12、在虚拟机中安装ubuntu8。04的时候，有时会问你gcc的版本。有一些朋友不知道gcc是什么。它是一个编译器。没有它无法编译源代码，在linux系统中就是无法安装程序。如果没有，请用sudo apt-get install build-essential 。就可以安装完基本的开发工具了，gcc当然也在里面。
13、当出现这个英文的时候

Please choose one of the following display sizes (1-13)
注意这里也许会与你的电脑不一样。但是我觉得你自己想一想应该能搞定。
Please enter a number between 1 and 13
然后你选择一个最接近你是实际机器的分辨率。因为如果你觉得分辨率大，你可以往小里调，但是却不能往大里调了。
14、输入你想要的数字。
15、好了全部完成。
最后罗嗦几句。我用的虚拟机是vmware 5.5.3。 这个虚拟机的ubuntu是不能与主机通信的。据有的资料说，6.0版本的有方法可以与主机共享某些数据。只是，之后我已经完全转到ubuntu上来，也很少使用windows。所以也就没试。安装这个工具不需要多么高深的技巧。不过，如果每一个步骤都完全明白了的话，你也就理解了linux 系统的 相当多的基本知识了。
这是我开始用虚拟机学习ubuntu 的时候，第一次自己独立的完成的事情，当年，自己还把它放在了自己的博客上。不过，自己之后也没有兴趣再写。当然，也很少有其他人浏览。到现在我自己都找不到自己的博客了。时光转换，许多都变了许多。在这里看到有人问这个问题。一笑。

不过还是又出问题了，我按二位的提示安装了GCC，并没有出现让我选择分辨率的提示，但是已经出现三楼所说的“Enjoy——the VMware team”的字样，但是VM左下角还是提示TOOLS没有安装，LINUX重新启动也是一样，但是我在VM里面安装的SERVER2003的TOOLS是正常的
