求高手指教！ADSL无法联网，pppoeconf出来2个设备，一路回车下去就没有了！

紧急求救！ubuntu安装完成后ADSL联网问题。
小弟我按照网上说的方法试了一下下面的方法:
在终瑞输入:
sudo pppoeconfig
接着出现了一个窗口,窗口中的内容如下:
i found 2 ethernet devices:
eth0
pan0
are all your ethernet interface listed aboves?
(if no,modconf will be started so you can load the card drivers manually)
or press ESC to absort here
<YES> <NO>

我选择了YES
出现了下面的一个窗口:
内容如下:
scanning device
looking for pppoe access concentartor on pan0....
(multi-modem.mode)
这样进行了一下之后,出现一个窗口
sorry,i scanned 2 interfacs,but the access concentrator of you provider did not respond,please check you etwordd and modem cabes,anthor reason for the scan faiure may also be another running process which control the modem.
OK
这选择了OK,然后回到了终瑞
求教高手这到底怎么回事，如何解决。pan0 哪冒出来的，什么东东！

你最好在终端里运行ifconfig然后把结果贴上来，才好分析。
