［求助］我的显卡配置现在处于什么情况？

我的显卡型号是mobility radeon 7500
我安装的Ubuntu版本是8.10
现在在系统－》屏幕分辨率中只有800＊600和640＊480两个选项
我的显示器是1024＊768的，所以我想把分辨率调到1024＊768
但在网上看了很多修改方法，并且按照各种方法说的做也没有成功过
这是我的xorg.conf文件的内容：

我再补充一句，我运行glxinfo | grep direct的结果是direct rendering: Yes。

怎么改也不行，进不了桌面，只能回到默认的内容才行，就是你列出来的一样的初始配置。

我是笔记本，mobility radeon 9700 显卡
分辨率是好的1280X800。 3D桌面也都可以
可就是direct rendering: No
