为什么宽带连接之后本地IP就不见了

我使用的是ubuntu8.10 ，
用wine装了网通的客户端后在NetworkManager里做了配置就可以上网了
上网之前用ifconfig查看的结果如下：

请问局域网的eth0的ip到哪里去了？
我想用squid代理上网，但是我一拨号本地IP就不见了，其他的电脑无法上网

这样自己指定一个行不？

我在/etc/network/interfaces中写上静态IP后网络就无法连接了
只有删除了才能拨上，此时本地IP又对了，但是我只是在NetManager里配置的，在interfaces里找不到任何IP
