ubuntu7.10无法安装中文支持

在winxp上用vm5.53安装的ubuntu7.10.
ubuntu是在网上下载的700M的iso用虚拟光驱安装的
安装过程问是否下载语言包，因为虚拟机上安装，没有下载。

安装完了在language support里没有中文选项，但是英文和其他的一些语言都有.所以安装不了中文支持
在软件源里更新后也还是没有中文支持...
有没有前辈知道这是什么原因？是不是7.10已经不支持更新了？还是因为虚拟机或者是winxp系统的原因？之前我在win2003上虚拟机安装这个就没问题~

在软件源里更新后出现下面错误：

Could not download all repository indexes

The repository might be no longer available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and the correct writing of the repository address in the preferences.

7.10版本早了点吧
LTS的话8.04不是挺好么，新一点的9.04也不错

我昨天试着升级就是升级到8.04lts的.因为在线升太大..所以取消了...
