我想装显卡驱动，帮我看看错误在哪里啊

新手学ubuntu， 一直都是在windows平台下活动的

突然就想用用这个 可是没有3D特效啊
我的是 VIA S3集成显卡 在官方找到了相应的驱动程序
可是不知道怎么装啊 原来老是笑那些在wiodows平台下不会装软件的 现在我也这样了

显示No的有点多 帮看看 需要哪些包 需要打入些什么命令啊

CPU 是AMD 64 双核的
内存是好像是 ddr2 装的UBUNTU 9.04桌面版 在windows下面的一个 分区上 以虚拟磁盘安装的

目前显示的阴影有点严重 文字不够清晰 也是想装驱动的一个原因啊

扫盲：linux对sis支持不好，也就是说linux安装在sis上可能会出现异常

我和lz一样 也碰到了这个问题
解决了一部分

udo gedit /usr/bin/compiz
有一行 WHITELIST = "nvidia intel ati radeon i810 fglrx"
改成 WHITELIST = "nvidia intel ati radeon i810 via"
就是最后的VIA 呵呵
然后这个错误提示就没有了
可以顺利的make了

但是各位
我并没有能启动我的VIA显卡特效
甚至替换了安装目录里的xorg.conf
也没有用——结果是要么“没有randr扩展“，要么就进不了X windows

所以我并没有安装成功 呵呵

错就错在不应该装显卡驱动...或者根本不应该用S3显卡...这玩意在windows下驱动都不好找
