Ubuntu Wants To Know What Closed Source App You Long For

Is there a closed source application you really want to ported to Ubuntu? What about closed source applications like iTunes, Photoshop, or Steam? Well now is your time for your voice to be heard.

An administrator at the Ubuntu forums recently created a new survey asking Ubuntu users "What closed source applications do you want Ubuntu to chase after?". Even though the Ubuntu Team fully believes in the power of free software, they are not blind to the demand of a couple of popular closed source applications.

The survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GFVQP62 has 11 closed source applications listed, such as iTunes, Steam, Photoshop, Google Picasa, and many other. If there is a closed source application which you want but isn't in the list, suggest it at the bottom of the survey. The options range from "Don't ever want to see this app on Ubuntu" to "I would definitely use this app".

The Ubuntu Team isn't asking for what closed source application you would like in the default Ubuntu installation, but instead is asking what closed source application you want them to put pressure on so that they release an Ubuntu/Linux native version.

The idea of the survey is so that the Ubuntu Team has a rough number of supporters which they can show to the company producing the closed source application. Without any demand, there is no applications.
