Ubuntu9.10桌面问题

最近装了Ubuntu9.10，但是奇怪的的现象出现了
1.以root身份登录系统，在桌面上点击右键能够看到展开菜单，并能创建和删除文件夹和文件。但是以非root用户登录系统，在桌面上点击鼠标左键或者右键没有任何反应（点击右键，并没有展开菜单）。
2.请各位帮助分析一下，昨晚搞了一个晚上都没有解决，谢谢！

找到了desktop(/home/hjhua/desktop),查看了属性，用户，组，其他用户，他们的权限我都设置为for folder:create and delete ,for file:read and write. The same as root

linux is a case sensitive operating system, therefore the name of the folder should be ~/Desktop

'~' means the directory '/home/hjhua'.
the follows is what i just do.

besides,what is the meanning of "a case sensitive os".how to describe it in chinese.thank you.
