cannot display chinese character of file folder

installed ubuntu 7.04. installed Chinese characters support. can display Chinese character in firefox and other applications. able to input Chinese.

BUT all Chinese characters given to filename or file folder CANNOT be displayed... like transparent. i was able to see them yesterday after installing the Chinese support but after reboot this morning... all Chinese characters were gone.

under 'System''Administration''Language Support'
i already have a 'tic' beside 'Chinese'.

the only way to see those Chinese characters is when i login, i chose 'Chinese_Hong Kong' (non English). but i am not accustomed to the Chinese interface so i prefer the interface to remain in English but i can see Chinese characters in folders/file i create.

any help? thanks for the support.

I think you have not the proper chinese font installed,
you try this:

click menu at left-top System->Preference->font->application font,
can you see any chinese font in the dialog?

if you can't find a way to install some.

上面提出这个问题的朋友一定是不能上网呀！如果你能上网，用不了多长时间，你就会收到一个升级的提示 ，升完级后，就会在language support 里边看到Chinese 这一项呀！选中后确认就可以下载包包，loglou后就可以用了！你试一下吧！
