ubuntu5.10不在apt-get update怎么办？

改过网卡Mac地址，设置后可以上网，但用sudo apt-get update总是说连不上，请问大侠们怎么办？

I 'm surfing WWW via http proxy in university. I've visited http://ubuntu.cn99.com/ubuntu/ many times before to find if there are any imformation that's usefull to update my Ubuntu. When failed to connect to servers, can it be updated manually?

There is no such file "etc/apt/apt.conf ", so I created one. It didn't work.
