我将hiweed1.0内核升级到2.6.17-11-generic──附6.06/6.10/7.04官方源地址

hiweed1.0的内核是2.6.15-23-386。目前我升级到了2.6.17-11-generic。
为什么要升级内核？我老实回答：不知道！据说是新内核会增加很多驱动，稳定性、新功能都有增强。

对于老手来说升级内核的方法很简单。我的方法仅供还没升级内核成功的新手参考，同时也算是个简单的升级报告吧。

步骤很简单：
1、sudo mousepad /etc/apt/sources.lst
分别加入6.06,6.10,7.04的源（我选的全部为官方源，我的速度很快，基本都在100──400K左右）；
源地址见下面二楼。

2、先用#将6.10,7.04的源注释掉，运行：
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-686

重启，选升级后的新内核启动系统。用#将6.06,7.04的源注释掉，用6.10的源，运行：
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-686

再重启，选升级后的新内核启动系统。用#将6.06,6.10的源注释掉，用7.04的源，运行：
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-686

内核就升级成功了！

小疑问：按道理最后的内核应该是2.6.20,且升级到最后也提示在更新并配置2.6.20了，但我现在uname -a却显示是2.6.17-11-generic。没搞懂原因！

切记：千万别搞错了：不要运行sudo apt-get upgrade。
我的台式机在升级内核时，急着出去吃饭，最后运行了sudo apt-get upgrade，然后走了。结果回来后显示一片小方框！摸索着重新配置了字体──显示正常了，以为没事还高兴呢。结果重启后死活进不了x！我懒得再找方法去搞了──就下载了7.10装上试验用──现在我台式机的内核是2.6.22

升级内核后，在grub启动菜单里的旧内核启动菜单能否有办法删除？

升级新内核后，旧内核能否删除，我的硬盘快满了。

急盼高手解惑！！

搞了半天就是单独upgrade kernel，你apt-get install linux-686，如果源中版本高于你的系统版本，就会选择升级，你这样一路升，内核升级成功有什么奇怪的！不过问题也不知道会不会有，要看rp的！
