[问题]vmware tool

抱怨一下，ubuntu怎么开始的时候什么都没装？我为了装个vmware tool(我是在winxp里面用vmware虚拟ubuntu的)，弄了一个晚上，一个问题解决了，又出来一个问题，解决了，又出来一个。

先是说什么gcc没装，装了之后说我make没装，装了之后又说什么c header files没有，我上网好不容易找了个专门解决问题的补丁，./的时候它又给我来个unable to open the installer database /etc/vmware/locations in read-mode.这都是怎么回事啊，就不能人性化一点吗?连一个简单的vmware tool都要费这么大的功夫，这不是让我们新手望而却步吗？

还有好多问题，比如vmware桥接的网络ubuntu用不了，不但只用不了，每次选择桥接的时候，我在主机xp上面用ie都会死在那里.

linux自从有了X之后已经相当人性化了～加上“源”这个无比强大的东东，可以说linux已经人性化到极点了～

理论上系统是自带gcc和make的，楼主为什么会没装就不知道了。。。。

而且用源装的话，应该是会自动安装所缺少的环境的吧～

貌似是权限不够把。。。貌似。。。。。
楼主sudo一下看看。。。

谢谢楼上的回复，我已经是用sudo权限来执行了，一样的错误。我安装的版本是ubuntu6.06 desktop版本的，为什么会没有自带的gcc什么的呢?

刚刚在网上google搜了一下，什么语言都出来了，西班牙语，英语，德语乱七八糟的，好像是没有老外知道怎么解决，至少英语是这样的。这是我学linux的第一步就这样，弄了两天了，寒心了.

i have not found this location. ... i just find /usr/src have 4files folders.

i select one of them. /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.20-16-generic/include

but i didn't work!!!!!!!!!!!!
the terminal shows:

The directory of kernel headers (version @@VMWARE@@ UTS_RELEASE) does not match
your running kernel (version 2.6.20-16-generic). Even if the module were to
compile successfully, it would not load into the running kernel.

这才人性化呢，不是每个人都需要的，这强调了定制性，你需要你自己装。
虚拟机用 VirtualBox 啊，好用的很呢，VMWare 也不错啊，我也用过啊，装tool没问题啊，不知道你们怎么那么多的问题。我 VMWare 的网络选 Bridge 或者 NAT 都没有，都是直接上网。
