如果你一定要问root的密码是什么,我也不知道.不过你可以直接修改: sudo passwd root.

不过关于root的默认密码是什么这个问题，的确是个问题。U系统似乎没有提前说明白。

"sudo" and "su" are not the same. The console said "password for jiang", that means what you should input is not the password of root but the one of jiang. jiang is a sudoer, so this user can make a supervising operation by simply using his own password rather than root. To modify the password of root, one should use "sudo passwd root" command. Command "passwd" can change the password of any user.
By default, ubuntu give root a random password, user will never be aware of what it is.

To run command as root (some operation requires this), "su" command should be used.
