刚装上了ati8.02驱动！爽！不用xgl了！

刚装上了ATI8.02驱动。并可开启3D加速。不用xgl也可运行compiz。建议更新
我的显卡是ATI Radeon 9550

从7。10（ati driver的，不是ubuntu）就不用xgl了。。。。

我的卡是9550的。参考了3D区的几篇编译安装的方法。我以前也试过没有成功。这次成功的关键我觉得是先安装了限制驱动管理器里的驱动，然后在新力得里面删除干净。接着一步步的编译deb包安装，肯定成功。如果先前安装过xgl就也得把xgl卸载否则新驱动会慢。如果新系统不安装限制驱动管理器里的驱动就直接编译安装的话，fglrxinfo返回的信息可能错误。
我之所以换驱动是因为限制驱动管理器里的驱动glxinfo |grep -e 'direct' -e 'OpenGL' 返回的direct rendering: 值是no。如果要开compiz还要装xgl。而xgl白白占资源。

谢谢，我已经按你的方法都装好了，显示效果好多了，有影印什么都有，但是我不知道开3D，怎么没有别人桌面的3D效果呢？

不好意思下午就上了一会网，没想到你一下子问了这么多。7.10自带了compiz所以就不用装了，但建议装一个fusion-icon可以集中管理特效。具体方法参考viewtopic.php?t=64461&highlight=装好之后可以在里面自定义3D特效。
另外确保你的显卡驱动安装正确。主要是看你的fglrxinfo和glxinfo |grep -e 'direct' -e 'OpenGL' 返回的值是否正确。

My note book is hp nc6230 with ati x300 and i installed the ati driver version 8.2 this morning which has been working very well. My notebook has many wonderful 3D-feature options now and with the optimal configurations it looks extremely cool.
