[问题]ubuntu下使用影音软件出现无响应故障

刚刚装了ubuntu7.10的系统，但是一使用音乐或播放影音的软件，就出现程序无响应状态。以前装时也还能使用。真不知这是软件的原因还是硬件的原因。声卡也能用，登录时能发出声音。恳请大家能给出解释。我的电脑信息如下

找到一个办法，不过不知道是不是根本的办法。
将flash重装一遍。

我先卸载flash
sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-nonfree

然后手动安装flash
wget http://ubuntu:ubuntuftp@ftp.ubuntu.org. ... nux.tar.gz
tar -zxvf install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz
cd install_flash_player_9_linux/
sudo ./flashplayer-installer

Ctr+Alt+Backspace 重新启动图形界面
就没有这个问题了。有没有高手出来解释一下
