Ubuntu 8.04 的 Pidgin 总是发不出信息？

小弟前些日子全新安装了 Ubuntu8.04，至目前为止也有十多天了，但 Pidgin 经常出现以下错误信息：
(11:56:03 AM) Message could not be sent because a connection error occurred:
xxxxxxxxxxxx

总是这样，不知道各位的情况怎么样？

Pidgin 的 MSN 选项如下:

Server: messenger.hotmail.com
Port : 1863
Use HTTP method
http method server: gateway.messenger.hotmail.com
proxy type: Use Gnome Proxy Settings

将 server 设置为：gateway.messenger.hotmail.com
将 port: 设置为 80, 选上 Use Http Method 即可

此是在防火墙内需要作此设置
