怎么手动从终端安装受限驱动？还有nvidia的官方驱动安装了什么驱动，在哪里？

怎么手动从终端安装受限驱动？还有nvidia的官方驱动安装了什么驱动，在哪里？
我研究了手动终端安装受限驱动2天了。总很郁闷，官方驱动。安装编译出的 nvidia。ko吗？在哪里？
我看到 startx 显示，说 build-in 难道编译到内核里了？应该不会啊。系统内核都没有重启。

我是这样手动安装受限显卡驱动的。并出现了如下问题：
sudo apt-get remove nvidia-glx
删除 /lib/linux-restricted-modules/2.6.22-14-generic/ 下带有nvidia的文件

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-new
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-`uname -r`
sudo nvidia-glx-settings enable

startx

出现错误：
Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'

First 我的 ubuntu 7.10
我使用 modprobe -l | grep nvidia 看到 显卡 驱动有 3个
volatile/nvidia_new.ko
volatile/nvidia.ko
kernel/dirver/video/nvidia.ko

我把其他的都Mv bak 掉了。剩下 volatile/nvidia_new.ko .或者 volatile/nvidia.ko
最后只剩下一个 volatile/nvidia.ko
还是没有起来 /var/log/Xorg.0.log

先定好你的显卡和nvidia那个系列的驱动对应，然后在终端apt-cache search nvidia
看准内核版本，选一个和你内核和显卡都对应的驱动，apt-get install *
试试看行不行。
