No smart pinyin option

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu Dapper Beta on x86 (T41). I have installed necessary scim-chinese, scim-pinyin etc.

When I choose SCIM input method in gedit, i get the scim toolbar. Under Chinese (simplified), I get only: Erbi, Erbi-QS, Wubi, Ziranma. I don't see a Smart Pinyin option at all.

What do I need to get the Smart Pinyin method option?

Please help.

I don't understand Mandarin characters, yet. So, please reply in English.

There seems to be a package named scim-pinyin, make sure you have installed it !
try

I have installed all that.

Out of the 5 options in scim panel, the fifth option is in Chinese. It is supposed to mean Smart Pinyin method. Huh!

How is anyone who knows only pinyin supposed to know that? Anyways, I am using it.

In Debian, they have named this in English only, as "Smart Pinyin".

I'm now using "fcitx" instead of "scim" and i have ever seen "smart pinyin" as well as "拼音“(or" 智能拼音“？）option in my computer,because I like english enviroment.
For your question , i don't know much about it。because i think that it does not matter!
