Ubuntu 没有桌面

我今天刚把Ubuntu装上，装的是ubuntu-8.04-alternate-i386这个版本。
郁闷的是
装完系统后就提示我login
然后login成功后就停留在：~$那里了 没有进入桌面。
安装的时候也没有提示我说选什么分辨率之类的。
请问我这个是什么毛病 怎么解决？

装的时候选择的貌似是桌面啊。。。怎么成服务器了呢。。。

我正在按这个教程安装KDE 不知道 这么安装可以么？

为啥不直接下个Kubutu的镜像直接安装呢？

server版默认不安装桌面，不过你可以自己安装。
Gnome:
sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop
kde:
sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop

ubuntu-8.04-alternate-i386
就是gnome桌面的命令行安装版，
安装时要把X选上。

或者在安装后插入光盘

代码： 全选

sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop 

kde也有alternate cd
