8.04升级后一片空白

使用的源是推荐的源
Archive.ubuntu.com更新服务器（欧洲，此为官方源，电信网通用户使用)：

昨晚一运行sudo apt-get update,有500-600个包升级
就升级了，但重启后白茫茫，什么也看不到了，但按着位置摸索点击关机等还可以操作，
就是什么也看不到，重启X－WINDOW也不行，用RECOVER模式x-fix也不行

When I finish the update restart my laptop, and input the username and password,at first I saw the desktop backgroud pic but the tools panel dispear and the the screen show white. At this time I comfirm that my OS was still alive and when I click the place of the power shutdown and it can shutdown laptop.
Did my os's gnome-panel was broken? Pls give me some advices! thanks
start the failsafe mode,there is no chinese input.

and my laptop is hp pavilion dv1000, the display card is intel 915gm

2楼的朋友、、你说没中文输入法，应该看得懂中文的吧？
你的情况我也遇到过，我也是更新后出现这样的情况的
当时我强制重启之，进系统的时候选择18号内核（更新后出现19号内核）
选择18号内核之后能顺利进桌面，然后换了个源再更新，完了之后19号内核竟然能使用了

我也不是十分清楚什么原因，估计是第一个源更新的内核没更新完，当时很多个包下载失败了，换第二个源之后都能更新，不过速度很慢，只有10k/s，我这样弄了5个多小时呢
不知为何，启动选项里面都是8.04.1的版本，系统监视器看到的是8.04版本

应该是升级不完全造成的。。。
我暂时的解决办法是进安全模式删掉compiz。。。
然后准备去学校用校园网弄那个“部分升级”，在尝试安装compiz，希望可以

BTW 你可以在终端输入 scim 打开输入法。。。。。

19号内核进桌面白屏，选择18号内核，能顺利启动，所以我才怀疑是19号内核更新不完全所致
后来我参照网上的方法，把16和17号内核卸载了
