解决方法14楼！只能换成集成显卡
这里是安装fglrx时出的一些问题，还有aticonfig 等

是的，我在“首选项”--“附加驱动“里看到有fglrx和fglrx-update两个amd闭源驱动，但是选择后重启后无法进入X，卡在lbuntu画面。tty也无法进入，只能通过recovery换回开源的。

谢谢您的建议，我刚刚下载了amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-linux-run-installers，解压后得到fglrx-14.501.1003
我看了您推荐的网址，说先卸载旧的驱动，再安装安装新的驱动，然后用aticonfig --initial 配置然后重启。但是还是我无法进入系统。

但是我注意到文中的一句话：
In order to restore the system to the previous state before the last installation, the original configuration file needs to be restored manually. Without that, Xorg may fail to start properly after uninstalling the driver and rebooting the system.
To restore the original Xorg configuration file:
Locate backup configuration files:
ls /etc/X11/xorg.conf.original-*
Take the latest version with the highest number and copy it over the existing xorg.conf file:
cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf.original-<number> /etc/X11/xorg.conf
After that, it should be safe to reboot the system and start up using the open-source driver that ships with the OS.
Reboot your system. You should have now successfully uninstalled the AMD Catalyst proprietary driver for Linux.

这是在安装之前的卸载驱动后的说明，但是我不知道我有没有理解错。意思是要先恢复一下Xorg的原始配置文件吗？否则安装新驱动后可能重启后无法运行xorg。
还是假设之前正在使用闭源驱动，如果不这样设置会导致下次会无法进入系统？

还有一个让我迷惑的是，我在recovery换回开原驱动后，再次进入系统，发现aticonfig这个命令不见了。我用dpkg -l | grep fglrx 显示

1. 先備存 /etc/X11/xorg.conf 到 /etc/X11/xorg.conf.Backup
萬一安裝新驅動失敗無法順利開機
可以開機登入 Recovery Mode 或使用 Live USB/DVD 開機
把 /etc/X11/xorg.conf.Backup 複製回 /etc/X11/xorg.conf

我刚才又试了一下，发现是在“附加驱动”换为开原驱动后就会自动remove关于fglrx的驱动。

因为一换闭源驱动就无法进入系统，我在开机recovery里注意到有两个内核让我选择进入
一个是3.16.0-23-generic 另一个3.16.0-30-generic，我发现在未换回开原驱动前，高版本的无法进入，低版本却可以，不知为何？

然后我又发现在用户的home下有个atisysteminfo-report的文档，其中记录可xorg的错误信息。
可惜没有能力看懂。

原来Madison是型号，我看到官方之写Raedon HD 5xxx，没看到之前还有那么多的型号阿！！

终于，我在网上看到了和我一模一样的问题，但是没有解决，但是作者之前14.04是可以使用fglrx驱动的哦。

For the very latest cards, open-source driver support is not always instant. Using proprietary fglrx/Catalyst driver may be necessary.
較新的顯卡硬件建議使用閉源驅動 fglrx/Catalyst

看来你是对的，我换成14.04试了，还是不行，刚才那个帖子的作者估计搞错了。

但是我想了一下，我最需要解决的问题是，休眠睡死和玩游戏3D画面卡的问题（warzone2100).

之前我以为是换ati驱动才能解决，原来还会集成的intel显卡就可以解决了。

Then reboot.

Then I went to tty with ctrl+alt+f1, sudo su and checked that both cards were up with

# cat /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch

stopped mdm (lightdm on ubuntu or kdm gdm on others) with

service mdm stop

then turned off the intel card

echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch

it said i915 is off and with cat like before we can see

service mdm start

to bring the window manager up again. And voilà!
