I hav installed ubuntu7.04 of eng ver. Chinese can be read correctly and scim pre-installed. I need chinese input support and hav read a # of related instructions. But they all tell about setting of langugae support in administration, the list of which truly includes chinese. However once I ticked it and clicked apply, a prompt came out saying: 'could not install the full language support' and
'Usually this is related to an error in your software archive or software manager. Check your software preferences in the menu "Adminstration".'

Does it mean some software need to be installed? Can anyone help me fix this out?

first sudo apt-get update

open a terminal
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -f upgrade
after that try what you done again
