If that works you're O.K. except no special visual effects. If you want to try compiz again, install with Synaptic.

我的试过了，就是文中的R31,启动GNOME，只有一个空的屏和一个可以移动的鼠标！

不过我确实对COMPIZ有些意见了。
8.04的时候只要选这个东东，过一会儿会不定时FROZEN。
这个版本更绝，根本就进不了GNOME了。
不过这样也好，完全就不用了！

通过移除compiz,无桌面问题解决了
