有点糊涂了，Gnome的归宿

gnome进入第三世代 发生了大幅的改变
首先开始依赖systemd 而systemd呢只在linux平台上有
所以bsd，solaris等等一般说来都不好用（openbsd除外）
但是问题是记得好像gnome是gnu计划的正式桌面
而gnu os的计划核心是gnu hurd
所以矛盾来了
是不是因为gnome要单独出gnome os所以抛弃了gnu

Controversy over supported platforms

In May 2011 Lennart Poettering proposed systemd as a dependency for further releases of GNOME.[20] As systemd is available only on Linux, the proposal led to the discussion of possibly dropping support for other platforms in future GNOME releases. While some people responded to the proposal with criticism[21][22] others suggested the idea of a GNOME Operating System on top of the Linux kernel.[23]

GNOME 3.2 Release Notes state that multiseat support is only available to those using systemd.[24] The systemd dependency was questioned again in November 2012, where the GNOME release team concluded that it can be relied upon for non-critical functionality [25]

可以是可以装
不过可见gnome是偏向与systemd的

基于ubuntu的多数都自己开发了桌面了
