Partnership Program
* Send this page to somebody
The Ubuntu partnership program is designed to encourage, recognise and endorse Ubuntu expertise and commercial initiatives. It is structured to foster a healthy ecosystem surrounding Ubuntu, to highlight those companies with certified expertise in Ubuntu and a deeper relationship to Canonical.
Levels
The program offers three progressive levels of partnership based on a points system that rewards certified technical expertise, commercial initiative and services offered. The scoring criteria are defined in the next section. Partner levels are:
* Level I: Ubuntu Affiliate
* Level II: Ubuntu Partner
* Level III: Ubuntu Gold Partner
All levels of partnership entitle members to use a specific Ubuntu partner logo, and a preferred listing in the Ubuntu Marketplace, a web directory of Ubuntu-related goods and services. Additional benefits are available at each partnership level. For example, at the Partner and Gold Partner level, we will share leads for business opportunities that match your skills and geographic focus with your organisation. Details of each level are described below. Each of the partnership tiers requires the partner to have a specific number of Partner Points, earned by certifying internal skills, or actual contribution to the Ubuntu project.
Affiliates
The Ubuntu Affiliate program is designed to recognise organisations around the world that have taken steps to certify the Ubuntu skills of their developers and support staff. These companies are likely to be able to resolve typical installation and deployment issues that may arise, and handle desktop support for end users of Ubuntu.
Partners
Ubuntu Partners are organisations which have demonstrated a higher level of Ubuntu expertise and which have a commercial relationship with Canonical. Ubuntu Partners participate in the development of Ubuntu and are able to help shape the future direction of the distribution. Typically, they are companies that consider Ubuntu to be a key part of their business strategy.
Gold Partners
Ubuntu Gold Partners are the highest tier in our partnership program. This status is awarded to organisations which have extensive Ubuntu expertise, demonstrated over a wide range of activities. They have a significant number of developers and support personnel with certified Ubuntu skills and are able to address complex technical issues around the deployment, customisation and management of large networks of computers running Ubuntu.
Partner Point Scoring Criteria
The table below defines the point earning possibilities for you as an Ubuntu Partner. This table is subject to occasional changes, but any changes will not affect the status of existing Partnership agreements. If you have additional experience that you believe to be relevant to your application, but is not explicitly covered in the table below, please contact partners@ubuntu.com to discuss.
