I followed the instructions but it didn't work.
$ googleearth

If you are seeing a bunch of black boxes instead of text, install the package ttf-ms-fonts from AUR. That alone solved the problem for me.

@fowler I have had similar crash problems; I believe after upgrading some libraries. Removing the google-earth configuration files usually fix the issues.
rm -rf ~/.googleearth/ ~/.config/Google/GoogleEarthPlus.conf

建立gestylesheet.qtss内容如下:

用googleearth -stylesheet=gestylesheet.qtss
启动
正常简体中文,字体可以自己改。
